Why is this done?
The important thing to remember is that you are building a truck (and doing a dang impressive job of it) that suits you, so, do what you want and enjoy the ride...
...if someone doesn't like it they don't have to look at it
OK, ok, I'll get off of the soap bo
now where did I leave my medication..........)Bobby
No accusations, simple fact.
Once a perfectly well designed truck has it's basic frame & related component parts altered, it also becomes potentially more unsafe, mistakes can be made even by Experts.
You ever "Pulled" a Driver out of a Wrecked, Chopped, Channelled & Rodded Truck?
It isn't a pretty site & yes, I'm also looking @ this from a Vol. Emergency Response Medic's P.o.V. as well.
And if you were going for a True "Time Machine", your truck woud be looking as if it had just come out of the Factory, not what You believe it should be Altered into.
And speaking a reactions to "Slight Irratations", You who live in a Glass house should Not throw Brickbats, "daddy-o".
Someone has to play the Devils Advocate, don'tcha know.
As for appologies, luv the fact it's to everyone But me, I'm still LMAO over that one.
The president for all times lows here was set long before I arrived R.J.
As for narrow mindedness AXR, takes one to know one, don'tcha know.
Then after being accused of a bad chop of a perfectly good truck it "slightly" irritated me.
I think there is room for all types of trucks to be appreciated on this forum. So I'm sorry if I offended anyone. (other than the col).Wayne

Have a good day, I have better things to do like modding my truck.
Everyone has opinions. We all share them here. In the 2 years I have been a member, I can recall many a thread with lively retorts between stockers and rodders and the banter is always healthy and fun. YOU HAVE CROSSED A LINE. You have set a new low in that kind of conversation by criticizing other's choices with your so-called facts and deformed logic. A low I hope is never repeated. There is no point to arguing an opinion. It's an opinion, not a fact.
While others in this thread have apologized IF they have offended and/or tried to console those who obviously have been offended by your remarks, YOU JUST PLOW ON, offensively!
NO RESPONSE would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.: Wayne - love your truck.

Right now I'm all stock (suspension), but I would feel much safer with disc brakes, power steering, etc... I crashed an almost stock 56' on the 101 and flew out the window. Long story, but a better suspension setup woulda definately helped me. Stock or not, I give thumbs up to anyone who has a similar ride,...cept the Chevy guys who always seem to have a chip on their shoulders =)

Hmmm, I could kick everybody out of the sandbox, but I hate playing by myself, so that's out.Just so everybody gets a good perspective, this thread has been quite a bit more boisterous than most on the 48-60 forum. On the other hand, I have seen a LOT more heated discussions on other forums. Every one of the participants in this thread has contributed information, experience, and help to other forum members on a number of occasions. I would hope that will continue despite the deeply held, and differing, viewpoints expressed by those individuals in this thread.
I'd like to ask (and will insist, by the way) that additional comments in this thread be directed at the audience in general, and not at specific individuals. If you want to say stock trucks are the most boring thing you ever saw, fine. If you want to say rodders ruin trucks by changing them from stock, fine. DO NOT say "I think Billy Joe Bob is an moron for putting a Honda lawn mower engine in his truck." Even if Billy Joe Bob IS a moron for putting a Honda lawn mower engine in his truck.
Now, given the above rule, have fun with the discussion or let it peter out - it's up to you folks. Just remember that folks can only grow to respect you based on what you post here. It only takes a couple of poorly thought-out posts to ruin a good reputation you've worked to build for a long time.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
As for a ''perfectly well designed'' truck, I think there is a reason that they don't make 'em that way any more. humbly submitted, FF56
