Went to Lowes today

I had to get a new level since the one I had is now a horseshoe (they don't hold up well to an 04 F-150 running over them).
I saw a guy I work with, who said "you need a new level?"
I said yeah, I noticed last night at work while I was drooling that it was running down one side more than the other, I placed the level on my head and noticed I was a half a bubble off!

HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!

Was the guy in Lowe's level-headed? The folks at the Lowe's where I live are a half-bubble off too.

It wasn't a guy that worked there that was a half a bubble off, the other guy I was talking about is a guy I currently work with.

I told him I noticed I was a hlaf a bubble off.

But anyway, the guys at that Lowes, at least the ones who work in the lawn and garden center (or who worked there when I went with a buddy to get his privacy fence stuff) are about three bubbles off.
First I got ticked at em cause they said the stuff wouldn't fit on the trailer, then ticked cause they said it wouldn't all fit on their. The straw that broke the camels back was when they said my truck wouldn't haul all of it, at least not very far (and they weren't joking). I todl em what was up and said this ain't even half of what this truck will do, believe me.
They acted liek I had never hauled a thing, had no clue what I doing and like they were almighty and knowing. If they woudl have asked I woudl have told them that my buddy and I both worked through high school in a lumber yard, I haul more than they ever load and that I may know more than them. My buddy and I looked at each other when we left and said "they woudln't have lasted a day where we used to work!"

Same here, If you ask for a specific tool, or part, most of them don't have a clue what you are talking about

I'm glad I have a knowledgeable Lowes.. I don't think I've ever had any problems, every time I ask for something, they always know where it is. Then again, I always go to the old guys that work there.

That's why I always go to the small-town hardware and farm/feed/pet/lawn and garden store.

I once went to Sears and the employee in hardware I talked to didn't know what a string line was, or why I couldn't just use a chalk line instead.

I bet they didn't know about the little wooden blocks you use with a string line either.

Well look at the local lowes/Home depot then look at the gene pool they have to pick from! Then pay that individual 7-8.00 a hour to put up with customers who dont know what they want, whiney customers and then those that know all. Yea I work there part time in plumbing as I am a plumber and can be of some help. I have seen both sides of the fence and I agree neither side is pretty!!!

You come across some guys and gals that know their stuff.

And others who couldn't find water if they fell out of the boat.
Or maybe this one is better....couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a shotgun if they were inside.

Thats why I love being a farmers son, there isn't much they can't do. Man I love my dad for all he has taught me.

The two stores I like are Agway and Central Farm and Tractor, I use these guys as much as possible. You get what you need and can sit and chat if you have some time to kill. To me thats what a store is supposed to be.
