Block Heater

Do all 6.0's have a block heater, or was this an option. I bouhgt a 2003 f350 6.0 and was reading the book about plugging it in during the winter below xxx degs. Made me think, I have never seen a plug. I had a 7.3 and the plug hung out the intake opening on the bumper. But i can't find one on this truck. I know rediculous question to ask when it's Africa hot outside.

Thanks,
Brett

mine is on the passenger side of bumper near the tow hook. 03 f250 6.0 I had to look real hard because it was stuck up behing for lamp and has black plastic cap that makes it blend in to wiring harness. My 6.0 supplement had the location.

All 6.0's have the block heater, but not all of them were equipped with the cords. If you look under the truck on the passenger side of the block, you will see the connector for the heater cord. It has 2 pins inside of a round threaded outer adapter.

What Viper said.....

Ford decided to elimate the cord on trucks shipped to warm regions of the planet. Your 2003 will have the cord.

Thanks

Thanks guys, I guess it must be in stealth mode. Not to mention it was to hot to crawl around under it today.

That cord is really short. I didn't think my 03 had one either, until I got down on my knees and looked real hard. It was hidden behind the passenger side tow hook, had to tug real good, then decided to put a adapter on it that extended it a couple inches, made it much easier to get the extension cord plugged in. I bought in Texas. I have read that the 03;s have the cords, but some later models deleted it, and it is a dealer add on or parts dept. item.

You Have to cut the zip tie that holds it to the harness,,, it will then extend about 5 inches out of the front of the hole in the bumper and you can tuck it behind the bumper when not in use

The block heater is on the engine.....the cord is an option. I'm not sure about the 05 but many trucks shipped to warmer climates do not have the cord. If you find the heater just order the cord. Same as your glove box lighting, fender splash guard, and hood insulation.....Ford eliminated a few items.

My '05 does not have the cord. I found the heater up on the right side of the block above the starter just where it should be... how about that. Ordered the cord from powerstrokeshop.com and I think it's about $24.00 delivered. That's actually cheaper than if I'd ordered it with the truck when new!
