ignition cylinder replacement

Hi

I'm fighting with the ignition cylinder in my 94. I can't tell from the instructions that came with my new one (motorcraft) if i have to take the trim off the steering. So I am trying to push the 1/8th drill bit through a small hole next to the hole with the torx screw in it..... I can't feel any pin from there.

Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong? If i have to take the trim off, what size torx screwdriver will i need? I'll have to go buy one. Thanks in advance.

You have to turn the key to the on position, and then use the drill bit (I thought it was an allen wrench?). You don't have to remove the trim, as far as I remember.

thanks for the replies... i ended up using a small robertson screwdriver as i really had to push on it to pop it loose, after that it was fine.
