Bonnet style front end

Has anyone ever made their front clip into a bonnet style or tip up front end? I just took mine off my 78 last night and realized how easy it is to get at everything with the fenders out of the way.

I know you can buy fiberglass "tip up" front ends but they're pretty pircey. There's gotta be a way to do it with the original body parts(I bet Red Green could).

Anyone? I'll check with the bodywork folks too.

maybe if you had access to the possum lodge.

just joking. someone i know has done this. there is site i cant think of the name but this guy is building a bronco. he calls it the superbronco. you might try to search for that

It's 'bandit99' from this site. I looked at his pix but it doesn't look like he's gotten around to the front end yet.

Bonnet style front end

I've got the hinge assemblies built and fenders cut,still looking for a good hood to complete the front-end. here's a link to some pics of the progress thus far. http://www.clubfte.com/users/bandit99/tiltfront.html I just got back from a job assignment out of town so I'm hoping to get SuperBronco finished in the next few months

Lookin good Bandit!

I spent all day yesterday working on mine. What did you use as a stop to keep the hood from opening too far? I was gonna use the hinge itself, but decided to use chains for now. I'm working on getting a hyd. ram and pump from my brother for it.

I also am using the original body mounts to take the weight of the assembly as opposed to the hinge.

My focus now is the latch and radiator mounts.
