How wide is a 2000 F150 8.8 rearend, axle flange to axle flange?
These come with disc brakes?
I am looking for something to swap into my '56 F100 and ran across one of these forsale. I thought I would try to find out the width this way instead of driving 40 miles just to make a measurement. I couldn't find anything through the forum search.
I don't know the width either, but given the significant difference in width of the trucks in question, you might find an 8.8 from an Explorer or Ford Ranger a possibility. I think that 1995+ Explorer 8.8's came with rear discs.
all right made it home on the hour drive I measured the rear axle fromflang to flang on my 2000 F150 Supercab XLT 4 door 4X4 the measurment was 62 1/2.

Thanks. A perfect fit would be 60 inches, so it is close but probably to wide to use. An explorer axle is around 59" which is a better choice it looks like.
Thanks again. I couldn't find this information anywhere else. If you are confident in your measuremnt then maybe I can get someone to update the tech article which lists rear axle widths.
