I messed around with the switch for a while and I had it working well. I couldn't make it not work. I screwed the switch back in and started putting the steering wheel back on and I noticed that it was no longer working. Then I noticed that the battery was almost completely dead. I could not turn on the headlights without the radio going off. The radio has been on for several hours but that's it. The battery shouldn't be dead. I took the steering wheel off and the switch is intermintent again.
I charged the battery and messed around with the switch a bit more. I put everything back together and it seems to be working. I'll see how it goes. I guess I've been talking to myself here.
we're listening... but sounds like you got working for now. If you have to change out the switch, I think I remember seeing a couple of threads on that recently so do a search and you should get all the info you need. You'd be suprised at how fast a stereo will drain a battery. Especially if is really warm outside. Washington State probably doesn't have the same problem with this but down here in Texas, I have to replace batteries every other year it seems.
I've run the radio for hours on end before and not drained the battery. It was hot out yesterday, about 87, but I thought batteries didn't do well in cold weather.
