synthetic grease ?
ok so i like synthetic lubes in my vehicles and i was going to grease all my fittings - ball joints, hubs all that stuff and i was wondering is there going to be a problem with a new syn grease mixing with the old grease thats all ready in there, just pump alot through maybe to fluch it out, im not sure

It will be fine. Nothing to worry about. At work we have switched and switched and swithced greases. Started with simple lithuim crown and chassis lube....then went to a moly grease.....then went to synthetic.....and finally we use a very stick and emulsifiable BTG which is boat trailor grease. Designed so wheel bearing that get submerged in water. Granted we a greasing a bearing surrounded by a seal and not just a ball joint. So no issues with compatability.
On these truck there is a overload on the balljoint boot. Still not a good idea to over grease.

Actually read an article in some Lubrication ezine that I get, that said there are some incompatibility issues when changing from dino grease to syn. I forget the exact reason, but I think it had to do with the various additives precipitating out when they mixed. They recommended flushing the system out before changing to either.
That said, since I didn't know about that, I have been changing to syn grease on all my cars for the past 15-20 years and never had a problem. I just pump it in til the rubber boot gets plump.
I have done wheel bearings too, but that requires a thorough clean out anyway.
Good Luck,
Jim Henderson
