Overheating Toyota

Hey guys been a while any way just rebuilt an engine, (sorry but it's not a ford, its a toyota and understand if you don't want it in the forum.) The first couple of weeks it ran great. Then all of a sudden overheating. Change the thermostat water pump, radiator, then took it for a coolant power-flush. they said it overpressured the flush machine then after the pressure settled down on the machine, they opened the radiator to check level and it was pressured up, blew hot coolant all over the poor guy. Anyone else think its a head gasket. doesn't seem to eat much coolant until it overheats, then only a quart max. I am absolutely baffled and ready to insure it for fire please any suggestions are welcome.

p.s. Mediators, keep up the good work, still love the site!!

Clutch fan ?, belt routing? Head gasket? crack?
Good luckl. DP. Head gasket installed in the correct position, or correct gasket to start with?

Did you use rtv on the water pump or t-stat housing? Those 20/22r heads have some really small water passages in them, and if a piece of rtv or a piece of rotting radiator hose gets stuck, then it'll overheat real quick.

Maybe air in the coolant system?
