EXP ignition schematic
The reluctor is shown as a flux activated reduction transformer, when in fact it is a hall effect hydro-dynamic loop system.
Pressure in the stator determines Veff at the coil contacts, excepting only corrosion interference in the windings. This can lead to mass quantities of pseudo-electronic feldercarb, and discharges at the field windings.
Anybody else been there with this?

Nope - friend of mine asked about one -
For whatever reason, they had the most miserable ignition system on earth to troubleshoot, so that was almost exactly what I told him!

My '86 just rusted out last week, and I've still got the OTC manual for it. If you want, I could scan some pages of the schematics and send them to you. But the only ignition problem I ever had in 19 years and over 270K miles, was the TFI module. I replaced two of them. Otherwise, no problems with the ignition.
