Keeping Mosquitoes Away

What do you use to keep mosquitoes off of you?

I need to find something that keeps them off of me.

I'm not a big fan of DEET. It irratates my face.

I'm planning a camping/fishing trip soon and they just love me.

What do you use?

I like avon skin so soft it seems to work not bad. But if I leave the yard for bush of anykind I use deep woods off - the smell is less than desirable but man it works. It does contain deet.

Me either. They get really bad in my neck of the woods, I dont put any thing on and they leave me alone. Just dont use any kind of scented soap or deodorant and they should leave you alone for the most part.

We must have smarter sceeters here if you move or breath there on you like white on rice.
I tried to B.Q. around dusk the other night, once they got a wiff of that co2 in the air it was nasty.

I tried the Avon Skin So Soft and it actually increased the mosquito activity.

About 6 years ago we went flyfishing near the Fall River in Northern Ca. during the Hexagena Mayfly hatch and they (fricken mosquitoes) came after me with a vengence.

They didn't get him, except maybe 3 bites but got me for roughly 200+ bites.

They bit through my tee shirt and through my jeans.

All this after using this Avon stuff. Yeah! Works real good.

DEET? I guess! Just don't like the smell. And bad for flyfishing too.

I have not found anything that works well. The old southern house mosquito which is native around here never once bit me. But since these asian tigers took over I have to stay indoors. I hope someone has a good idea here.

I still live in South Florida. We are having a Saltwater Misquito invasion right now. Skin so soft works on the kids. OFF makes my body freak out, I get hot and dizzy and feeling sick. At first I thought it was the BEER, WHEW, that scared me! Cutters does work well and does not funk me up. Just don't touch your fishing line or lures after applying anything, you will never catch a fish! They sell stuff in the Everglades that's like 99.9% pure DEET, that's gotta be good for ya????
