I am very happy with my V10, just got back from a two week trip from Missouri to Utah pulling my 25ft Toy Hauler.
I have to say I am happy because my buddy, who went with me pulling the same camper but with a PSD spent $24.00 in fuel than I did in gas, and at no time did he RUN OFF AND LEAVE ME pulling up a mountain pass. BSEG!!!
Well I guess I live in the real world too because my 05 V10 hauls my slide in as well as my 04 PSD did and a lot better than my 95 and 00 PSDs did. As a daily driver the V10 is much nicer in so many ways, quieter, smoother, more responsive. This wonderful machine was also 6000 bucks (can) cheaper to buy but it does cost me on the average a whopping 20 bucks more per month on fuel. Do the math on that one and it would take me 25 years to get my 6 grand back. The V10 is a bargain for most drivers out there. If you tow heavy 30 K miles or more a year, then yes a Diesel may be the way to go. How many people who buy these trucks do that? If common sense prevailed the V10 would be out selling the diesel but guess what. These are expensive toys and we all want the best . I don't need my moonroof or the lariat option or all the other high priced gizmos I ordered , but I don't have a Harley or a Boat so this is my toy. If I felt that another 6 grand would have got me a better motor, I would have spent it but the
Supercharged V12 gasser is still only a gleam in some auto engineer's eye.
