Shell Diesel?

Can enyone explain why Shell Diesel is as much as .30 cents a gallon more than other stations?

Is there that much difference in fuel quality, or are they a little more proud of their Diesel?

Thanks

Actually in Central Florida, Shell is mostly priced with or lower than everyone else, including the lower end Citgo, 7-11's and Circle K's which I always avoid and never have used.

Shell Diesel is significantly higher in my area than other brands.

Looks like pure profit taking to me. But when I filled mine up last week at WM for $ 2.25 (has since gone to $ 2.31) there were two trucks across the street at Shell filling up for $ 2.39...go figure. As long as people buy it, they justify the pricing strategy for Shell.

There is a Mobil station in my suburb posting $ 2.49. $ 0.18/gal higher than WM just down the street.

FWIW, I filled up once with Shell, and noticeably saw a +1 mpg difference.

Here in Bak'O Calif, Shell is $0.10 less than Chevron.

What I don't understand is why the Shell & Chevron stations along I-5 don't have diesel. I prefer to charge to the "gas" card, but end up having to pay cash at the truck stops - if I remember to cary cash.

You guys should count your blessings here in the San Diego area Diesel is $2.58 to $2.61. We would love to have a Truck Stop nearby with somewhat lower prices.

2.32 at the WW here in Austin, KW. Shell was 2.35 while WW was at 2.19. All the shell's I go to here seem to give me a good dose of water so I stick with WW and always get better mileage with it. I haven't passed a Shell in the past two days since WW went up, so I can't tell, but I'm sure they're probably up past 2.40 easily. Dreading my trip to Bristol now as fuel will be over 500 for the round trip. Maybe I should ebay and make a profit?????

When I quit using Shell diesel, I quit getting water in the fuel. As for the additional 10 cents per gallon, how else do you think the bombs set off in London were paid for? Motiva = Royal Dutch/ Shell + Saudi Aramco.

There is a truck stop closer to the Naval Base, SoCal Truck Stop. I drove past Friday and it was $2.66 down from $2.69. Luckily I can fill up at the Navy Exchange but there is only one that has diesel and it is about 14 miles further away but it has been at about $2.29.
