You will need the proper oil pan for a 351 to go into the Mustang. Ford has one for about $150 last ai knew, and it goes up from there. The pan you need was originally used in the Crown Vic police cars. Tour exhaust will not work either, as it will hit the steering column on the driver's side, and there just isn't enough to gring off to make it work. Best option is headers. I did the refit a number of years ago, took a 4 banger out and put a windsor in. I had to do it cheaply, so I fabricated most of the stuff myself. The motor mounts will drop in no mods, the trans will bolt no probelm, your only problems are exhaust and oil pan. I built my own oil pan, but afterwards found out about the Ford part. I modified the 302 headers by cutting an inch out of the passenger side, but oddly enough the driver side fit with no mods. if you are wiondering if the 302 pan will bolt to the 351, forget it, the rear main cap is bigger diameter, so no way will it work. You can modify the 302 sump to work, but the absolute best way is to buy the Ford parts. Tell you what though, it is a wild ride, I had no problem torching the tires, I did have trouble getting traction. You will want to strengthen the frame and get some traction bars for the rear.
