2005 F150 Supercrew problems??
1. Sometimes when I turn the key to start the motor it doesnt start on the first key turn. This is very seldom, but still a little weird.
2. Sometimes it feels like the transmission is slipping or I feel it kicking in or out wierd at about 40 miles per hour. It's like the truck is in too high a gear and then it has to downshift.
3. The dash board infront of the passenger seat rattles slightly which some might not notice, but it bugs me. The truck is quiet other than that.
Other than the above listed issues this truck has been a pleasure to own. I'm very picky about my vehicles and have jumped from truck to truck almost every year. I think this truck will be my last one for awhile If I can straighten out these issues.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
My Limit
Anyone else feel that the brakes are a bit soft? I can really feel the weight of the truck when I try to slow down. Maybe the brakes need adjustment, maybe I just need to upgrade the pads (and rotors?).
None of these are big issues to me. I'm gonna have 'em checked out when I take my truck in for its first oil change.
I am completely happy with my F-150! I was pleasantly surprised to get 18mpg on my way back from Dallas yesterday.
Brakes- Yeah, they initially felt a little soft, but was in Houston a few weeks ago and had this idiot pull out in front of me; so close I had to "lock 'em up". Believe me, the brakes worked great! (And I'm carrying an extra 300-400 lbs of tools/box in the bed.
Starting - Had this same thing for the first couple of K miles, especially when truck was well warmed up, turned off just long enough to run in a convenience store to get a bottle of water and then restart; had to let it turn over a while before it would start. 7K miles and have not had this happen in a while. All my other Fords, seemed like you could just "bump" the key and get ignition. Wife's '04 Sequoia latches a start relay so you don't have to hold key.
Maybe give it some break-in time, if it gets too bad, bring 'er in to your stealership. Good luck.
Regards,
Hugh D.
PS They bled the brakes for the fix.
