We actually just had a thread that may answer some of your questions;

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=391932

I now have no muffler WITH cat on my '05 and it sounds alright. I should have some .mpg's ready today, if anyone wants to hear an MBRP Turbo Back WITH cat amd mufffler and then again without the muffler on an '05.

Will do - give me 'till tomorrow, I need to capture it without the muffler now and edit the video. Unfortunatly my video editing software is at the office. Oh and PM me your address again and leave out the "AT" symbol. It got flagged and removed by the board.

Got your PM. I'll send it to you tomorrow.
I like it without the muffler - not TOO loud but has a nice sound. If it would stop raining I'd take it out and get on it some.

If you want to straight pipe it, you may want to try a 3.5" downpipe, then 4" all the way back.... I've heard a couple like that and they are loud and mean sounding.

i didnt have a down pipe so i had them cut far as forward as they could and ran 4 inch with no cat or muffler out the back.it sounds good at low rpms but after 3000 rpm it sounds like a glass pack.so i am going to take it back tomarrow and put a magnaflow muffler on it and hope it will sound good then.

Can you describe how it sounded below 3000? How loud was the turbo whistle and such?
