I know that there's been a lot of compressor talk, but this is pretty specific.
I'd like to get one to use with a few air tools ( that I'd like to get too!)
Anyway, I have limited electrical power available, and I'm looking at one from Sears that takes 15 amps @120v. They promise 6.3 a@90psi and it has a 30 gallon tank.
How does that sound? I'm thinking mainly of an impact wrench, ratchet and
maybe a chisel. I don't plan on painting, but it would be nice to know
if an HVLP paint gun was possible.
This will be some fairly casual use, but I don't want anything that's right on the edge. I'd like it to last a good long time.
Appreciate any comments. I've read specs, but I'm just not familiar enough with the stuff to feel comfortable by specs alone.
BTW, I'm not hung up on the Sears option. It just seemed like it might be
a reasonable choice.
skip it completly. its a joke. i reccomend the porter cable cpl6025 its very durable and comes with a industrial ge motor and makes 6.8 cfm and is twin cylinder and oil lube.
i got a sears oil less it sound like the same one. 30 gallon tank horiz with two wheels on it....
if thats the one don't get it its so noisy it drives me knuts and does not recover very well. look for two stage oiled compressor youll be much happier.
oh and the say 15 amps draw but on initial start it pops a 15 amp breaker had to wire and install 20;s
Chalk up another vote in the , don't go Craftsman oil-free column. Mine is very noisy, trips my breaker frequently, and I think it's about to need it's second piston seal since I've owned it. It is starting to take a very very long time to fill up the tank to pressure, again.
