You look good as far as the pinion seal is concerned. Be sure you get that vent hose back where it belongs.......or your going to be changing more than the silicon seal on the cover my friend....ok?

Yeah, should I just zip tie it to the frame rail or attach it by some other means?

It looks like the steel clip is still attached. Just slip it back on along the top edge of the rail on the inside. You will probably see the scratches where it was originally.

make sure to use the correct fluid in the diff. does it have ls? ford requires the use of synthetic oil in the diff.

Okay will do, thanks for all the help touch...looks like I'm going to just get a new differential cover and reseal it.

A Mag-Hytec would look real good under there.

Haha, I wish I had that kind of money to spend on a differential cover.. I'm new to the buying of differential covers. I have an 01 F350 SRW and it comes up as 10.25/10.5 Sterling. Are those two different sizes or are they the same?

You would have to go to their website and check......they probably have a number you could call. That is what I'd do.

Obviously the ring gears are different sizes, but many of the parts...including the differential cover, are the same.

I wasn't going to venture a guess......all I know is 2000 dually.....Dana 80......with 4x....Dana 60.

from the pics of the cover it is a 10.5/10.25, if i am not mistaken all dana axles have a fill plug on the cover. everywere i see covers they say they are for the 10.5/10.25, same cover different size ring gear.
