Replace your points, condenser, rotor, and distributor cap. Cheap stuff that may eliminate the problem. Check the low-voltage wire (not the spark wire) from the coil to the distributor. Make sure to check the connection of this wire inside the distributor. Also check the braided wire inside the distributor to make sure it isn't frayed, broken, or shorting out. If all that fails to fix the problem, you might try a new coil and/or ballast resistor (if your truck has one). Finally, make sure you have a good, solid system voltage supply at the input to your ignition system (ballast resistor or coil if you don't have a ballast resistor). Then move on to the fuel system. Good luck.

Do you have a flathead in there now? If you do and you are going to replace it, please let me know. I would be interested in it. I have a couple of engine-less trucks at the moment that I would like to put flatheads back in. And I'm just up the road from you. Would love to see your truck sometime. Please post some pictures.
If you start you sentences with a capital letter and end them with a period it would go a long way towards making it easier to read and understand your posts. Or at least hit an enter after each so they start on a new line. There are many of us OF's here that have a problem translating IM or email dialect (or whatever it is) that might be able to give assistance if we could understand what is being asked.
It's the Channelview in him. Remember the Texas Cheerleader mom story? That was C-view. (Richard - Hope you know I'm just busting your chops a little. Glad to see another Houstonian on here. Hope you stick around - and let me know about that Flathead if that's what's still in there.)
