Getting the Right Speedometer Gear from FOrd
in my 84 f150 with TOD tranny, Iswapped the 2.47 gear gears with 3.27 rear gears. Running 275/60-15's which are slightly shorter than stock 28" exactly as opposed to 28.7". My speedo gear is currently a 17tooth gear. Well Doing calculations found out that 22.5 is the ratio i need to be "perfect" (so a 22 or 23 tooth gear) well Calling ford they don't have part number for a 23 or 22 tooth gear and the closest is a 21. DOes anyone know any part number of maybe another vehicle i can try to search for to get the gear i need? ALso If i get a 21 tooth gear i'd be a 7% which is liveable but i'd prefer to get it close so my mileage would be relatively close.
