Differential fluid change
Seems like most of the rears around those years used a 75W90 and I think it specifies semisyn or syn. Older rears seemed to lean to straight 90 or 90W140, but I think that may be too thick for your newer diff.
Don't know if you need limited slip additive, I would guess not. But if you do, you can find it in big toothpaste tubes.
I have used the cork and rubber gaskets on different vehicles. I think I like the rubber a bit better. Seem less prone to getting cut while torquing. The gotcha I have seem with rubber is that sometimes it will squeeze out whilc torquing and then you have a big leak.
What I do is use some sealer, usually something like Permatex. I put the sealer on to the cover per directions and then put the gasket on that and let is sit a bit so it kind of keeps the gasket from squirming around.
Good Luck,
Jim Henderson
