Hey All, I have an oil problem maybe someone can shed some light on. I first started noticeing oil on the left front(standing in front of the truck) of the motor, couldn't see where it was coming from. Finally found out it's coming back out the oil fill tube. Question is why? Any input would be helpful, Thanks
dweg,
Check the valve that goes from the oil fill cap, or from the other side of the motor's valve cover, to the back of the carb. This PCV (proper crankcase ventilator) insures a negative pressure in your crankcase. When it clogs, pressure builds up and it leaks out every hole. There is a leak at the base of your oil fill stick tube and that's close enough to the oil for it to blow oil out there. Change your PCV and hope that that's it. It's a cheap fix.

I had the exact same problem with my 460 when I first got it. I checked and cleaned all the hoses, PVC valve, and breather. Whatever I did, it solved the problem. I also put a little RTV in the cap of the dipstick to give it a little extra seal. I had a spare water pump thingy with a tube on it so I didn't have to risk getting RTV in the engine.
