last question...can you tell it is project time on the 'ole pickup again?
I am trying to rig up some rear facing fog lights, and have them switch on automatically when I throw it in reverse. I have the relay set up, and went to make the connection between the relay and the wire for the reverse lights. I have a 77 2wd w/ a C6. I went under expecting a reverse switch with a wire for me to tap into, but could not find such a beast. I can't find anything in my books to help me. I would prefer to tap in up near the cab as I am running a switch so that I can turn the fog lights off if I don't need them (like in the summer when it stays light until 10pm).
I'll take a look for it. I looked around the column a little bit, but the previous owner did a lot of creative wiring, so it looks like a birds nest under there
why go at it from the collum? just tap the lines right next to the bulbs then you wont have to run 12 feet of wire. just take off the lens, find the right wire, i think it is pink and white, like mentioned above, then tap it and run it to the hot wire on the lights, or relay if thats how you are going to wire it. then find a real good ground, and if you cant, just make one. then when the reverse lights go on the others will come on aswell.

The relay is a good thing. Those lights really draw the amps and a relay is a smart approach. The neutral start and back up light switch for automatic transmission trucks is on the column about half way from the dash to the floor. Run new wires and use good quality connectors outside like "weather pack". I have done this on my 66 with 76 column. Works like a charm.
