Hey guys, here's one for you. everytime i make a sharp left hand turn, my truck surges with power. when i straighten back out, it goes back to normal. right hand tuns have no effect, just left handers. My truck is a 1979 f100 with the stock 302.
what do you guys think?..
Older Fords, (around '62) I had one, had a thing with the carb that when you turned full left/right, a solenoid kicked the gas in to keep the engine from boggin down. You say that it just does it when you turn left? Sounds like linkage or float in the carb. Question, when you are sittin still, does it affect the revs?
Joe,
Adjust your float. The 2-barrel is sensitive to float adjustment. Your's is set too high. You can remove the top cover and make your adjustments without removing the whole carb. Replace the float if you can afford it. Get ready to adjust it two or three times.

turns out that i had two spark plugs sparking on top of the passenger side header. when i made a left turn it would move them off. I am the biggest idiot in the world!!!!!
Not so fast! You have a motor mount problem or really loose crossmembers. Sounds like the headers are touching a cross member as well.

I meant to say that the spark plug WIRE was laying on the header, not the plug. I have checked around the headers, and they are not too close to anything like that
