Stupid Question...Spare Tire

Yes i have one question which really has no point. I know that in most ford pickups have the gas tank in the rear where the spare tire is usually placed. So when the trucks were new where did the factory put the spare at. My 79 has a bed liner so i can't see if there was any type of bracket in the bed area. In the sixties i know they had a bracket on the side of the left wheel arch on stepsides. My 79 is plain shortwheelbase. Just wondering

Stupid Question...Spare Tire

On a bracket under the rear tank. Maybe Dennis (Mil1ion) can come through with a picture for us.

Stupid Question...Spare Tire

Photo later.

There was also a bed side bracket in front of the wheelwell inside the box.
It could be mounted either side.
Mine was mounted on the driver side.
