I am looking at a 1988 Ford F250 4x4 dually, with a 7.3l diesel. Unfortunately, it is an automatic, and I really like stick shifts. Can someone give me a basic idea of the parts, time, and money needed to convert it to a manual in my driveway?
you need to completly remove the dash to get a manual pedal hanger into a 87-91 truck.
the 80-86 hangers and parts WILL NOT work.
you need to reinforce the firewall with an extra layer of sheetmetal where the clutch master cyl bolts to the firewall
you need a belhousing, clutch, flywheel, transmission, clutch slave/hose/master, manual floorpan.
You also need a DIESEL parts truck and time to tear BOTH trucks apart.
