air tool oil

is atf (automatic trans fluid) ok to use in air tools? was told by a repair guy that any 10 wt oil would work fine and that atf is one of the best..

works fine, i prefer marvel mystery oil though. but i have used atf will no ill affects that i know of.

Air tool oil is readily available at any hardware or parts store. ATF can be used for a quick emergency lube but use the proper oil.
