Well you have to look though he's probably sourcing his parts from a local autochain which i will admit for the escape brakes is notably cheaper, but you get quality motorcraft parts with ford with higher price. however honestly when i do the brakes on my wife's i'm gonna go to a parts store....i guess thats a little hypocritical but, employee discounts arent that great

I have 41,000 on my '03 Escape, front wheel disc, rear drum. No issues with brakes. I also have an automatic tranny so figured the brakes would of been gone by now. Guess bananaboat is right, the oem pads last a long time. As far as I know the brakes were never serviced. The dealer I bought the Escape from told me if the brakes were more than 50% worn, they would of replaced them, I guess at 31500 miles, the miles on the vehicle when I purchased it, they were still not 50% worn. The dealer is pretty reputable and doubt he was lying, but you never know...I guess I will keep on driving until I start hearing something or I don't stop anymore...not worried about the rotors , they are going to be replaced anyway when the time comes. Seems like rotors can't be turned anymore since they started making them so thin..
