Question BFG or Goodyear Mud?

I'm going to switch to a 285/70/17. I was wondering what experiences folks have had with balancing these tires. Which balances better? I tried 285/75/16 Goodyear MTR on my old Superduty and the tire shop could not get the shake out of the steering wheel at 60 mph.

I have BFG A/T 285/70/17 on my truck and they are very smooth, very little noise and no problems with ballance.

Never had the Goodyear but I have had 2 pair of Bf A/T's and 2 pair of BF M/T's. I had no trouble with either. They both rode great and wore great. I rototed they every 6,000 miles and got around 40,000 miles on the A/T's and 30,000 miles on the M/T's. I do not run my tires down to the minimum specs so these could have gotten more miles. Even with my great history with BF I have chosen to try out the Nitto grapplers for my 2005. So far so good and the road noise is comparable to the BF (very low.

I just put 295 bfg's AT's on my truck my second set, the first set lasted 60,000 Km's, the Goodyears I find are always a little to expensive. I have never had problems with these tires.

I am also runnnig on 295 bfg's AT on my F250. No problems with shimmy or wheel shake. Comfortable riding with low noise. Never looked at Goodyear.

I have 37" GY MTRs....no problems whatsoever. Performed well so far on and off road. Noise level is low.

My experience with the MTR's has been they wear fast and uneven. If I was choosing between those 2 I'd go with the BFG's.

I would go with the BFG's. 6 sets, love 'em. A pal had the GY mtr's and could never get them to balance, second set was out of round, gave them all back and got some BFG's as well. His truck is a Dodge though, I blame that...

I have a set of 37 x 12.5 x 15 on my 78 f-150. Haven't had any issues really, but i never tried to balance the 37's. Had a set of 35'' mtr, and they rode pretty good, as far as an aggresive tire goes.
