Steve,

I bought the Gates 3/4 inch heater hose from my parts house. I paid $1.29/ft, and initially bought 25 feet.

I would like to add, I think that sometime in the future I am going to tap into the upper area of the oil filler neck on the passenger side of the engine and put a breather there too. I don't know if it's really neccesary but I would be more comfortable knowing that both heads are getting ventilation.

Hmmm, maybe I'll just take that 3/4 black garden soaker hose (that I never use) and run it out.

Doesn't it cross ventilate across the back?
How wet do ya think it's getting (with oil) on the bottom side of the cap?
Thinking it might blow too much out....
(Uh-ooh, thinking again..)

i'll take some pics and post tommorow... like i said... the toughest part is getting that "dog house" turned around and put back in... i would recomend just leaving it where it is... just swing the elbow hose down 90* and hook your extension hose to it..

Thinking? Get ME in trouble?
Yo Johnny, I was talking about the cap on the oil fill for the engine!
The bottom of THAT cap!
ROFL! You too funny John...

Not gonna turn the puppy pound around, I'll leave it like it is and run the super soaker hose back. Heck, haven't used it for 5 years, she will never know it's missing.
(huh? didn't we throw that out?)

I ahve 200k miles on my truck, installed ccv mod about 750 miles ago. I have no vapor coming out of vent and not even any oil residue on the inside of the hose at the end.

i would almost think your hose is kinked somewhere... mine lets out some serious vapor, but mostly when i first start it up.. i think it is just when the heat first gets going in the crankcase, there is some pressure made from that heat build up and it vents through the hose... once she heats up there is substantially less vapor... i would think i have a real blow by problem, but when i rev the engine there is NO difference in the amount of vapor that comes out... so my rings must be doing what they are supposed to...

i run syn oil as well.. i don't think that is it... dunno... maybe you are venting somewhere else also... i was a little concerned when i saw how much was coming out a first, but now i think it makes sense.. i'm just thinking about different places where i can have the hose run to.. i don't like it just coming down under the motor.. although.. it does draw some comments from people... i could make up all kinds of stories to tell people...

"ya.. that's just the new ford "hyper diesel"... it's turbo AND supercharged.. has dual everything.. makes 1000hp and 2000 lb feet of torque... will out pull a peterbuilt..." somebody would believe it...!
