I did something really silly today - I sprayed down the plastic on my center console, and radio/ac controls with Lysol... After about 15 seconds on the plastic, I noticed it was turning a different color, like a bleach stain. Wiped it all off, and noticed that the plastic around the center console is stained.
I have tried a few interior cleaners and some DuPont Teflon interior protectant stuff, but the discoloration wont go away.
Anyone have a similiar situation and any suggestions? Would hate to have to replace the whole console.. it looks really crappy now though.
Nothing you can do but replace, it actually etches the plastic. Sorry for the bad news. You could try touch up paint. The interior pieces would best be found at a salvage yard, they would be hundreds through a dealer.
A few years ago, I bought a can of spray paint for the interior of my truck at the Ford dealer. Perhaps they're still available. Ready to pull the console out of the truck and prep it for paint? I don't think it's a fun job.
