door adjustment

have a 92 f150 with a drivers side door that seems to be out of alignment-tried to loosen hinge bolts but can't get to them with wrench or socket-do i need special tool? thanks

No special tools, but it is VERY tight.

You need to use a short socket, a box wrench, a ratchet elbow, etc.

Loosen the bottom hinge first.. and support the door edge with a jack and something soft on top of the jack head - a piece of pine, a small chunk of rubber, wadded up newspaper pieces wrapped in duct tape, etc, as to not scratch teh bottom of the door.

thanks for reply, but i tried socket with swivel,open end,box end but can't get anything on hinge bolts-not enough room between fender and door-?

I got to mine really easy. Open the door all the way and go from the inside, it sounded like you were trying to reach them from the outside? I used a socket with extension but 1 required a box end.
