Water pump junk?

Water pump junk?
I was on a camping trip pulling my travel trailer when I noticed I was leaking radiator fluid. Too make a long story short - I kept it filled with water as to not let it get too low until I got it home. Pulled out the water pump and the shaft that goes from the impeller to the fan has a bunch of slop in it. Now, I am assuming that my bearings are shot - would this be a correct assumption? I would've thought I would've heared the impeller scraping against the inside of the water pump because there is so much slop in the shaft. I think Autozone said a new water pump is around $380. If my pump is shot, where is a good place to buy one from.

yes your pump is junk. i got my w/p at a carquest parts store that had a lifetime warantee on it. i get parts at cost so i don't know what it would run you but i got it for 250. which was about 50 more than a non lifetime. so i am sure that the price will be some where around 400 to 450.
