I have the 5.4L in my Expedition. It definitly isnt that fastest but it has TONS of torque...I believe the torque rating for a 2001 is 345.

the hp is not what matters in a truck. you want a lot of low end torque which the 5.4 is capable of and becomes one hell of a tow rig with the factory tow package. i have towed almost 9,000 with mine.

Ok, so I ended up buying a 2001 Navi 4x4 with the DOHC 5.4L
Got it for $22,800 with 46,000 miles on it. Good deal!

Anyone know the trq rating on it?

I looove this thing so far!!!

Congrats on the new ride! Man, those Navi's are plush.

I believe the 2001 32v Intech motor put out 300 HP @ 5000 rpm and 355 ft-lb @ 2750 rpm.

The high-octane gas must be a killer on the wallet though!!

I didnt even know I had to use 91+ until last night, AFTER I bought it

Oh well, hopefully gas prices will drop!

I got almost that. I got a 2001 XLT 4x4 Towpackage 5.4, moon roof, fairly loaded with 63k miles on it. Paid 17k for it, I could have gotten a 24mo/24k mi bumper to bumper warranty on iy for an additional $1700 but passed on it.

I got it from a Ford Dealer in Ohio.

It can be done

I got a 2001 Navigator 4x4, only 46k miles, moon roof, tow package, etc

$22,365 (employee price)
+ $2735 (50k additional mile warranty)

So I'm happy

You realize that on a Navigator with a 30 gallon tank, IF your tank is bone try, it would cost only like an extra $5.00 bucks to fill it up with premium per fill up, right? I dont think it's that bad...my Taurus SHO requires premium and instead of it costing like $40.00 to fill it up I think it costs me like $44.00 with premium.
