Sorry again if this has already been covered in another thread (the site will not let me search; says I have exceed my number of serches per session; for 7 days now! anyone know how to correct this?)
Anyway... I am looking for a tutorial or step-by-step on changing brakes (pads, rotors, calipers, etc.) on an Explorer or Expedition... I have always done most of my own basic work on my cars, but have never tackled a brake job... looking for some basics before I get into it...
I did some searches but did not find much on the web as far as turotials with pictures... if anyone can point me toward one I would appreciate it.
I saw that article... it is a little sparse for a first time user... i.e. remove the calipers... a couple pictures and a few bullets describing how would be godo for me... same for rotors, etc. Anyone know of any more detailed description? Even a good book would be appreciated.
unscrew the top and bottom torx bolts to loosen the calipers. Open the caliper with say, a screwdriver to release and slide off to expose the old pads. and hang caliper with a wire or cord. Use a c clamp and an old pad to open the calipers all the way to put back on with ease after fitting the new pads. Whala, you're done.
