Rancho shock install instructions

Okay, maybe it's just me, but am I crazy for wanting installation instructions for my new Ranchos?

I bought RS 5117 & 5118 for my 94 Bronco, no lift & w/o quads ... basically, it's stock suspension that is in need of some firming up. I found my best deal at Kragen and got home to find no instructions in any of the four boxes. I called the knuckleheads at the the store and they had no help ... everything from, "they're the same as the OEs," to "instructions are on the box." The Rancho website was no help either as it only had downloads for susp kits.

I wrote an e-mail to their tech support ... I just don't feel right guessing on proper installation after forking over $$$. Any help?

FWIW, I think it's just you. Stroke the shocks a few times and put 'em on. Don't get me wrong, I'm an instruction/paperwork freak myself, but this one is pretty self explanatory.

I'm with Brian on this one. IMHO, shocks are pretty much self explanatory. I put new shocks on mine in little to no time...and without instructions.

Part of the problem is that the boxes were previously opened and I've got bags of washers and bolts that don't even fit my truck. Another box had nothing but the shock, no hardware.

So yes, I decided to pull up my panties and install them sans the directions. Of course I ran into problems with the first rear shock removal. The metal sleeve in the rubber bushing was rust-fused to the bolt. I've doused w/WD40 and will tackle again tomorrow. The other one went on in 15 minutes w/easy removal.

RICE H8R, where are you in ND? We moved from Cavalier last year and saw most of the state camping/traveling.

I live about 40 miles southwest of Minot. It's the little town of Makoti...we have "ND's biggest antique Threshing Show."

You say you saw most of the state camping/traveling...did you ever stay at Van Hook along Lake Sakakawea? It's about 7 miles east of New Town or 75 miles west of minot. I ask because that's where I've been working part time this summer...
