I recently purchased a 4x4 2005 250 Diesel supercab and have the 40-40-20 seats. The truck is a manual transmission and I find that when the middle arm rest/beverage holder is down I bump my forearm on the console while shifting. I am female and use the truck for pulling my horse trailer. Has anyone changed out this style of seat for the captain's chair style? Is it possible to order the captain's chairs and console from Ford or will it be necessary to go to an after market van conversion dealer? My previous truck was not a Ford and it had captain's chairs that I really liked. I really like this truck except for this inconvenience. I hope someone out there will be able to offer me some useful advice. Thanks.

You may find another owner willing to swap seats with you. You can swap seats without too much of a hassle. I would suggest watching EBAY or posting in the classifieds on this site.
What is the color of your seats/interior? Are they power heated seats or simple manual seats?
Wrecking yards are another 'option' in your hunt should you want to retain the stock look.. Running the application for year/color/style on the yards state/national hotline may have some quick result at a reasonable cost.. Just need a donor!! You can usually barter some if its a seat setup the yard has in stock, rather than ordered in from another wrecker.. You might want to try and locate 'Ford' only yards, or specifically Ford truck wreckers.. And as HeavyAssault mensioned, their listed quite often on eBay if you can find the same style ect..
Thanks for the info. My seats are simple manual adjusting and the color is dark flint. Since I am in California how do I access wrecking yard hotlines? Should I contact a local wrecking yard or is there a web site I could start with?
I'm in Nothern CA, Marin County.. We have a Auto Dismantler 'right next' door to our yard, and deal with them on a regular basis.. I can have them run a search for a seat combo as you've described.. 05 S/C, Manual Captains/Dark Flint cloth/Console.. Correct?.. Just for info./location purposes only.. But a manual adjust will be the harder part.. More the norm would be power seats.. You never know what can turn up.. Can take hours, days, or weeks ect. for a search to yield any possibilities. The key, and the hard part, is to find a truck with the needed combo that is damaged bad enough to 'not' be a builder truck, but not bad enough to have damaged the seats ect.. Should be something out there...
They ran a search this AM and found a setup in Fresno, but, is out of an 03 that had some light damage that they would fix prior to any sale.. Didn't go much further than that on this yard yet.. See what else turns up.. If no others turn up, may be a possibility.. Don't know if there is a 'pattern' diff. in the cloth between 03-05 though.. Maybe someone here at FTE might know.. I'll give'm a day our two in a local search.. They only searched in CA, but will look nation wide just to see what is available, and a local..
