Hello everybody! This is my first post and I hope someone can give me awarm and fuzzy on what I'm about to do.
So far on my 2002 f-250 SD I've put the KN filter,Gibson headers & exhaust. Superchip tuning. 35in tires, and traction bars. I've been dealing with a 4 wheel store that talked me into changing gears, (not much arm twisting)stating that all I've done with the oversize tires is bring my truck back to stock with the performance I added. The gears I have are 3.73's and we are going to 4.56 and an auburn possie. Does this sound like a good move to add to the package? I was also wondering about a throttle body but I was told that they whistle and won't notice much performance differance.
Thanks in advance!!

Gear change sounds like a good idea, either the 4.56 or 4.30's would be good. Some people have had good luck with the Cobra TB, can't recall the brand right now. BBK maybe?
Sounds like a good set up you should create a gallery with some pics for us. And a sig with your trucks specs.
4.56 sounds right to me for 35's. Most agree that 4:30's are the best setup stock. You will definitely wake the truck up with a gear swap.
You should check out the V-10 forum in the performance section of this board. There are a lot of ten cylinder guru's down there that have tried just about every performance mod around and can give you excellent advice. Read through some of the archives in that forum and you can probably find all the info you need.
welcome, i ran 35"s and 4.56s for awhile and it was fine, i now have 37"s, with 35s and 4.56s i had plenty of power, in OD at 70mph the rpms were pretty high like 2.5k rpm.. that is the only downside.. but i liked it.. i like my setup now.. 8" lift w/37s and im going to stay with it... if i had it to do over id use 4.88s w/ 37s.... Anyway i have an Auburn rear and have a locker in the front... the auburn is a great, amazing unit... but it is not a locker, its 500% better then stock, but its no locker... i chose not to get a rear locker cause i have a large trailer with high tongue wieght, and think that just puts too much stress on the driveterrain components when loaded up.... if i did not tow much or had a light trailer, i would use a detriot soft locker in the rear.. with the front locker and rear auburn, i have only gotten stuck once in sand, and i got out myself by airing down... where i was, and how heavy my truck is...no one was going to pull me out.

If you don't mind sharing, what did the shop quote you to do the gear swap? I'm trying to rationalize spending $1,000+ to get better fuel economy.
It'll be about $1200. If you are looking for fuel Savings it will help but I'm doing it because it will help with pulling and over all performance. The power band from what I understand needs to be between 2300 & 2700 RPM's. I'm running around 1900 to 2100. The engine lugs a little.
