Mainly road driving.
Occational Offraod.
Rarely tow. (boat in at the beginning and out at the end of the season)
Once I get my engine gremlins out (pinging when warm and under little load) and stopping a small tranny leak (they are fixing it now) then I will be somewhat satisfied.
e4od tranny with 3.08s is pretty high i'd stick 3.73s front and rear if i had the money but, that's just me. The price would be steep for front and rear though.
Yup, LS front and rear is nice. It was done by the original owner who i bought it from almost a year ago. The rear has a powertrax No slip. The front has a Detroit TrueTrac Limited slip. He got them from Summit racing along with the Ring and Pinion sets. And had them professionally installed in fall 03'.
Well some mexicans got there nissan stuck on a muddy hill at the construction site across from my house. Got hung up on a rock under the spare tire.
I went up there and pulled them up hill with no throttle in 4HI/Granny. Didn't slip at all while they were flooring it not doing anything when i stopped they slid down so i pulled them further.
yah my truck only has a ls rear end normal open front. Is your powertrax locker realy noisy? my neighbor has a powertrax for a street racing car he built that's pretty noisy when it is turning.
i not that i can tell, sometimes it grabs if i'm stopped in the drive way and it's locked and i turn really tight. But it unlocks quickly kinds sounds like a tire rubbing.
yah i'm not sure exactly what his is other than a powertrax locker of some sort. He just told me that it's barely street driveable and quite noisy along with super stiff (of course it's a race car). He said you can hear the locker trying to mesh when you make any sort of a turn. He bought it new so just assumed that's how they are supposed to be. He said it locks right up though so it's doing it's job.

3.73's and a E4od is the setup i want! but could you imagine the rpms on the high way with 3.08s and a E4od. thats screaming great high way mileage. you would turn no rpms on the highway.
