Uh, this I gotta disagree with, based on my own experiences. I used 18-8 marine-grade stainless for some of the exhaust manifold bolts in my 390 FE - the top exhaust bolts are usually stuck and won't come out no matter what.

The stainless ones I used came right out - the hardened ones didn't - I had to use a lot of heat to break the rust.

And yes, I used anti-sieze on everything...

The V10's heads are aluminum, not cast iron.

This thread, of course, is already running in the V10 forum, but I figured this should be answered here...

Oh, yeah, and I used stainless bolts for the intake manifold, water pump,you name it. After 15 years of mostly sitting idle and everything rusting up real good, everything came apart very easy, even stuff without anti-sieze.

Sounds like you people use a really bad grade of stainless steel.

Great point. I would also go with s.s. IMHO.
