they enhance the timing curve too much. trying to add more fuel which makes more hp to an extent.

Advancing the timing is one way of generating power, and unless they have changed their newer stuff, they always ran alot of timing in their programs, combine this with increased pulse width (which advances it even more) and more fuel, cylinder pressures get outta control and "boom boom out go the lights"

I would also advise staying away from Bully Dog. Mine smoked black on any accel except the stock setting. VERY heavy smoke on the middle setting. Performance was good and mileage increased substantially, but everyone wanted me off the road. Sent it back to Bully Dog for reprogramming and didn't help at all.
