On the surface I can't see why you wouldn't go for it. I would do a thorough inspection with my mechanic on the power and drive systems. If you can hold it with a deposit or something similar for a week, do an oil sample and make sure nothing abnormal comes back internally.

Nah. I didn't do it. I couldn't bring myself to buy it even though it would have been nice. My stealership didn't originally sell the vehicle. I'm a technician at a Chevy dealership and the guy that traded it got a smokin' deal on a D-Max during the employee discount shindig. The salesperson even did a no-no by offering more than trade value for the truck just to sell a Chevy.

I didn't get it for a couple reasons. I need to do home improvements and I'm trying to get rid of the monstertruck to allieviate all of my debts ('cept the house). Getting this truck would cost me $233 more a month than what the monstertruck is costing me....kind of a backwards jump. I had to come to that realization. Also, I couldn't get over the fact that it is a shortbox......you'd never expect me to demand such practicality from someone who drives what I do.

I did call up the Ford dealer and get an OASIS done....nothing ever done to this truck except something for the HVAC system. It had a recall (not really a recall as I understand, but something that they do if there are issues with the exhaust backpressure sensor). Nothing else ever done to it under warranty. Maybe good, maybe bad; who knows?

All in all, I think I made the right decision. I think I may wait for an '03 7.3L though once all of my house projects are completed. Still not sold on the 6.0L even though they do run ok. Thanks to all for your advice.

Yah i see where your comin from. Getting yourself in deeper then you already are been there done that. The main thing is to get what you want not what they have. There are tons off 7.3s around with the longbox CC. Youll get something youll like. Man working at aChevy dealership an not going to buy a Chevy. I bet those salesman have tried there darndest to get you in a Chevy. Ford guy in Cody just shinin through. Just joshin you. The only thing I can say is that guy that bought the Duramax will find out how good his Ford really was. Especially the room in the crewcab. Good Luck Cody hope you get a good price out off your truck.

I get a lot of flak from everyone there, but I don't let it get to me. Learned a few years ago to get what I wanted in the first place when I bought a Cummins. Loved the engine, but it was a reg. cab and a DODGE at that!!! Been happy with my F350 (except the motivation.....or lack thereof)

I should be putting the monstertruck on sleazebay by Thursday...we'll see how the auction goes. Starting at $12,800 no reserve.
