AOD shifts late

I burned up the AOD in my 1985 Ford F150 and swaped in the AOD out of my 88 cougar. It shifted just fine in the cougar now in the truck it's shift points seem way to high and don't think it is hiting OD at all. I have played with tv cable with little change. Please Help!

If you install a transmission from a car in a truck the speedometer will NEVER register correctly.
Perhaps this is your problem.

We changed speedo gears. Also I'm going by the sound of thr engine that it's shifting late not speed.

Did you keep the original TV lever at the transmission?
Quite often they will have different geometry.
