My drivers side mirror keeps shaking while I am driving. Is there something I can do to tighten it to stop this? It is virtually impossible to focus on something while driving.
Another question that I have is, would anybody know where I can find a page where it would tell me what level of window tint is legal in Illinois?
You might check with a local glass shop on the mirror - more than likely it will have to be replaced. It just gets worn inside and the mirror gets loose and vibrates. Check Ebay - lots of them on there.
The best thing to do for the tints is to go to a tint shop they will tell you flat out. b/c if they dont and u get a ticket for tint thats too dark its their hide.
I live in illinois, and NO level of tint is legal in illinois on the front driver and passenger windows, you can do anything you want to the back and extended/crew cab windows if you have them. as far as the front you can only place tint above the AS1 line on the windshiels (in the upper left and right corners).
That said i have mine done and 25% on your side windows matches the stock privacy glass almost perfectly, but no its not legal and i have been tickited.
Guess i should mention, illinois does have a stipulation for tint based on perscription by an optomitrst, you might ask next time you get your eyeballs checked.
Is the whole assembly shaking or just the mirror?? If is the assembly then there is a bolt behind the trim panel on the inside of the door, take that off and tighten.

Chris
It is just the mirror/glass itself that is vibrating

When you said privacy glass do you mean the rear window, or the windows on the third door?
Regarding the mirror, assuming it is the standard power adjustable one, there is a center ball and socket, two smaller ratcheting ball and sockets and two locating pins. If any of these became disengaged from either the mirror or head side, the mirror will shake. If you can pop them back in (difficult) it might be fixed, but if they're broken or worn, I don't think they are available separately.
I just had mine apart to replace the (signal) mirror, and it felt like doing brain surgery. Probably worthwhile to just get a replacement, unless you have more time than money.

I do have more time than money, but I lack the patience. So I will bring it somewhere to get checked out.
i dont believe so, i think it is mostly to do with the area of the window, but if you put 25 on the front sides it matches the rear sides perfect
the back always looks a lil lighter from the inside, especially if you have a dimond plate toolbox like i do.
