July Rebates

We're still waiting to see the official programs from Ford, but the Detroit Free Press is reporting Ford will match GM’s popular employee-pricing offer. (Thanks, Crimsntide, for the link). GM has already announced they will extend their program, with a few notable tweaks
1. Corvettes are now officially excluded (it was optional before), as are Pontiac GTO's. Hummers continue to be excluded.

And, for the Bowtie Crowd (you know who you are ), effective 7/6/05-8/1/05

2006 Chevy
Impala.........$1000 (we haven't even seen one yet!)
Colorado......$1000
Silverado.....$1000
Tahoe.........$1000
Suburban.....$1000
Uplander......$ 500
Express........$ 500

2005 Chevy*
Aveo...........$500
Cavalier.......$2000 (exc. 1SV Value Pkg)
Cobalt.........$500 (excludes SS)
Malibu.........$2000
Impala.........$2500
Monte Carlo.$2500
Corvette.......$0
SSR............$2000
Colorado......$1500
Silverado.....$3000 (all)
C45 Kodiak..$1000
Avalanche....$3000
Equinox.......$ 500
Blazer..........$3000
Trailblazer....$2500
Tahoe.........$3000
Suburban.....$3000
Venture.......$3000
Uplander......$1000
Astro...........$2000
Express........$1000

We will continue to honor our FTE buyers agreement and sell for GMS less $200 (if it's a Tahoe or Suburban, PM me- FTE pricing would be quite a bit less than that).

*Eff 6/14, selected owners of full-size GM SUV's (Takoes/Yukons) will recieve coupons that will either credit $1500 towards the purchase of a new like vehicle or $2500 towards the purchase of a GM wheel/tire package.

As with Ford, the rebates stay with your area of residence, not where you took delivery. If you follow this link you can see what rebates are in your area.

Oh, great: set, discounted pricing from Ford. My commissions are gonna drop through the floor, as I won't be able to sell anything with a decent gross profit. Oh, wait a minute- we've been doing that already for 3 years. Never mind...

Do you know what this going to do to my paycheck?! I'm a nice guy, I'll treat you right and I won't lie to you. But are you going to drive halfeway across the country to buy a truck from me- for the same price?! Of course not.

Oh well, back to the sales floor...

MarkII......... you can always throw in FREE accessories to entice people to travel across country to purchase from you??..... maybe setup a deal with your local Line-X or Rhino dealers and offer FREE sprays with the purchase of a new F-150?..... etc. etc.?

Hmmm.... Let's see what the doofuses in Dearborn come up with first.

Coming off of 30 days of craziness on the GM side of things, here's what I've noticed:

1) Dealers will try to tear peoples heads off that are trading in.
2) The words "dealer trade" are going to cause some serious frowns on sales managers faces. Later in the month, it's going to do worse than that.
3) Interest rates are going to take a mysterious spike.

The biggest surprise- our sales, in relation to other dealerships in the general area, actually spiked upwards during this period. Our out-of-area percentages skyrocketed upwards too, which tells me good service and a friendly atmosphere still override price, when push comes to shove.

The big question, in the land of Ford, is this- since SD inventories are pretty thin already (for some models, really thin), the key to numbers is going to be in what dealers have large quantities of on the ground. Explorers, Expeditions, F150's, 500's, and Freestyles come to mind.

Polarbear - I just noticed today that we had a rebate in the 60068 area code valid 7/6 - 10/3 for the 2006 F series. (Program # 01882) $1K rebate. It seems to indicate that I have to buy the truck from dealer stock. Since i have an F350 on order that should arrive in another 6 to 7 weeks, does this mean that i would not qualify for this one?

TNX for all your help!!

I'm reading that as a FMCC finance cash program- and I'm wondering, because Ford's shown this in error for '05's during most of the model year.

Slight of hand?

Hmmm. Looks like Ford is "giving" us A Plan pricing, but reducing the rebate from $5,000 to $3,000; right? Kind of a wash for us X Plan buyers on a 05 Expedition.... Guess I shouldn't complain. Helps Joe average buyer.
