hi im working on a pickup for a friend its a 77 ford 4x4 short bed, ps, pb ,its currently riding on 8inch alumium wheels and 33 12.50 x 15 sidewinder tires.tires have been on truck 7 months..The problem just started he said a month ago.. driving in or out of four wheel drive at 15 to 25 miles per hour slightly turning the wheel to the right you get a jerking in the steering wheel real bad ,you hit the brakes it stops ..mine you this doesnt happen all the time..we have jack the truck up removed the wheel had it spin balanced .check all ball joints and tie rods and radius bushing and tracking bushing ,re packed hubs checked the bearing..cant find nothing broke.its a scary to drive not know when its going to start,... have ordered ball joints and are going to install this weekend but dont think thats it...... please help ... have i overlooked anything or has anyone had this happened to them
Check around the steering box mounting holes for cracks in the frame. I seen some cracked there, especially the F150's. I have seen the box flex quite a bit with bad cracks, actually lifts away from the frame.
May not be your problem but no harm in checking.

It sounds like the right hub is sticking. By stabbing the brakes you must be breaking it loose somehow. Inspect the right hub again and pack it with the lightest grease you can find.
