anyone have info on the rv460 crankshaft/pistons combo, heard they came with forged pistons and a stronger crank,, i picked up a non-rv 460 out of a e350
1990 econoline for get this 90.00!! at the local junk yard ,it was have price day,,its spins fine ,no bore damage, got it for a spare in case my f53 rv 460 should fail which i doubt, its still nice to have a spare, thanks
I don't know about the pistons but the cranks are going to be the same thing, and I never worry about what pistons came stock in a particular engine cause if you're gonna rebuild it then what was in it from the factory doesn't matter.
thats a good price heck of a deal.
thanks, i guess i will have to get new pistons anyways,as i can feel the ring ridge on top of the bores, engine had 113.000,,,,30 overbore would be right?what is the price range i should expect to pay fo just the boring?,,,,will it affect the ecm as it didn't come with mass air? maybe alittle porting around the valve stems, not much else planned but new chain/bearings of course, which brand should i go for??

yeah i know too many stupid questions, have to do research on what i can do to it as it is efi speed density, can't put a higher lift cam for sure, don't want MAF as it would be expensive to convert,,,i waited like two years for a 460 to find in the junk yard i visit regularly,,they are hard to come by,,i meant to post it was half price day, thats how i got it so cheap, anyone out there with mild efi rebuild upgrades
