Well it happened, and I hate to say it but it happened at the worst time possible. I'm coming home from a short holiday weekend camp-out pulling my 12,000 lbs 5th wheel over the pass. I was running about half throttle and about 25 lbs of boost when all of the sudden a loud boom, heavy black smoke, and no power or boost. It was far from preety as I was in a curve limping to the shoulder. Long story short everybody and there brother was headed by as my brand new truck was being loaded onto the back of a flat bed. Oh yeah, 2005 6.0 7,000 miles. I was extremely impressed until now.
I have kept in contact with my dealer on a weekly basis checking in for recalls. According to the dealers I have no recalls associated with my VIN. Im sure glad nobody got hurt in this incident, the trck literally stopped in the road, in a curve, could have been real ugly. The scary part is you get no warning when it happens it happens fast.

This is not a good picture, and all should take note of it..
Of course, comforting that you had no injuries.
Update from the dealer, We don't know what is wrong, we need to have an engineer out to inspect your vehicle, did you have a programmer installed? Com'on what kind of question is that. Furthermore what kind of diesel tech are these %$# heads using. Three days ad counting. Need a driver.

Not only do I feel your pain of getting stranded, it does appear as though it's becoming more common place for a tech to state "it MUST be customer abuse," when they can't figure out what happened, or why it happened. Contrary to what some tech's may believe, not all of us abuse our trucks. Unless the threshold for what constitutes abuse has now become just starting it.
Update: The dealer called to advise me the Intercooler had a hole blown in the side. I was starting a climb up a mountain pass and the temp seemed normal????? Got me?
Was probably the intercooler hose and they don't want to look dumb so that is what they told you. I would ask to see it myself. Not that I don't trust dealers or anything.
You know, I had the same feeling. When the truck stalled on me I crawled high and low looking for anything un-hooked or loose and did'nt see anything. I will ask them if I can see the old parts.
