Hello from South Carolina
I have a persistant exhaust leak from the passenger side manifold. I had a trusted mechanic replaced two broken studs and the gasket and the leak continued to tick. Its not a blown plug. My question is could the manifold be warped and if it is warped how hard would it be too install a set of headers. Summit racing has the bbk chrome header for $350. Does anyone have any info on these headers. I put a set of shorty headers on a 91 5.8 and I did a good job. I know this engine is partially aluminum . What should I do if I come across more broken studs. Will this be to hard of a job for a weekend mechanic. Can anyone tell me from personel experience if the BBK headers sound good.
Any and all advise is appreciated and welcomed
Thanks in advance
Kyle
i am not sure about how hard it would be to replace the a broken stud. i put on a set of gibson headers. it took my with out any experiance about 6 hours to intall. i didn't see any change in sound but i did see a little more power at about 2500 to redline.
