Hi everyone out there. Thought I'd say hi. I live in Louisiana and have a 76 f250. I paid $450 for it. It had alot of miles, decent paint, worn & ravaged interior, rusted out bed floor, and a busted coil spring on passenger side. The motor spit out a considerable amount of disheartening gray smoke. Although it was a nasty sight, it would keep the misquitoes away while idling. It was filthy and full of junk, but when my neighbor said he was selling it, I had to buy it! It just sounded too sweet from across the road w/ glasspacks and all. So w/ the permission of my wife I bought the ole thing w/ hopes of giving it a new life.
I've always been a big fan of the 302 w/ good reason. However, this truck had no such thing. It housed a beastly 390. After weeks of intense decision making I decided to keep the 390 and not swap to 302. So w/ that in mind I slammed a reman in. The only performance mods is an edlebrock intake and carb. The coil springs, shocks, brakes, and clutch were also changed. I am not disappointed in my performance or my gas mileage. I pull around 16 mpg when I drive reasonably. I get better gas mileage than nephews stock chevy 350. The power is awesome. Along w/ the 300,302,and the 351m, Ford has won me over once again. Sorry to go on and on but excited about my project and this web sights info.
Sounds like a great older truck. If you have any questions about those trucks head on down to the 73-79 Truck forum. The guys down there really know their stuff and would love to see you truck.
Which brings me to my next thing. You need to create a gallery! We would love to see pictures of this badboy.
